Re: 948 convert to 1275 info

Yes, you can clear the bell housing of a smooth case to accept a 1098 pressure plate but it isn't a direct fit. Not hard to do but not real quick either

Re: 948 convert to 1275 info

Actually a 1275 will bolt up to a smooth case transmission. It is a 1098 that won't, the pressure plate on the 1098 is too big.

Re: Bugeye (style) gauges in a Box Sprite?

The gauge sizes were the same bugeye thru '67. It was in '68 that the bigger gauges got smaller

    Rut
Assuming that you have a 1275, be sure to have that adapter in the head for the probe. Do not put the probe directly into the head!!

    Re: Bugeye electrical questions

There appears to be a little bit of confusion here about volts and amps.
To put it simply if the generator/alternator is putting out more than 12.4 volts then it is charging the battery as well as...

Re: Need Advice - Moving Temp Gauge Sensor 1275

    Doug
For a 1275 you must get the spacer before you put the bulb into the head. The bulb will fit either way but you will break the bulb if you don't use the spacer. Spacer was common to all 1275's...

    Chrome shops?

Can someone tell me the name of the chrome shop that has a very good reputation. I think it was in Alabama or Tennessee. The one that Jack used for Miss Agatha.
    Thanks
