TR6 Ľ Re: Starting my frame restoration

Is this the place just outside of Jackson, MS? They quoted me $3000+ to dip and ecoat a Bugeye, so I opted for sandblast, epoxy primer and paint for roughly $2500 at a shop near Huntsville, AL. I...

Re: Started adapting the datsun gearbox today

It’s a pita, but a good idea to test fit the engine/transmission without the rear mount and measure the space. It surprised me at how much clearance you could get on the starter/frame rail by...

Re: Started adapting the datsun gearbox today

I built my own short throw shifter and put the gear lever dead center so itís not stiff. They are very easy and cheap to build and you can put the shift lever where you want it.

Re: Started adapting the datsun gearbox today

I like the original top hat and rubber...I also added a thin sheet of rubber below the top hat to prevent fumes from coming in.

TR6 Ľ Re: Resurrecting a water pump, worth it?

Looks decent, but I would clean it up around the lip. My favorite tool for projects like this are 1” belt sanders that can conform to the shape.

    TR4/4A Ľ Re: TR4 Fuel Gauge'"light bulb socket" type?

    Karl,
Im concerned about the affect that Covid 19 might have on packages crossing the boarder. If the gauge is grounded you can use the ground wire or use the gauge.

I’m with Tush...natural aluminum body and black arm and it’s the same on the MGB and Bugeye. If the body is really corroded I would use a cast aluminum paint.
