    If you place the box bell housing down on the bench the oil will run out the breather hole at the front of the shifter cover, better off with it on its side solenoid up.

    I used some draft stopper tape, foam on one side sticky on the other and stuck it to the top of all the hood bows which stoped all the wind chatter.

    It's the synchro hub with it's spring loaded balls that hold the gears in mesh, the box would have to be well worn for that to be the problem but still possible

    Have you checked the measurements of the two bearings? if the new one is bigger then there is your problem. Are you changing the bearing because it is worn or noisy or only because you have it apart...
