    Re: Thompson Vintage Festival -2015-photos

Not sure if it's a tribute. Probably, but it's a VSCCA car, so might be the real deal.

I know I've said this before: we have Graham Hill's original Speedwell Sprite racing with us.

    Re: Thompson Vintage Festival -2015-photos

I followed "16" around for a while thinking that rear window on his hardtop look very familiar. Turns out it's a rare hardtop and that rear window is from an Austin A30!

    Re: 450 sl

You're right; not so common anymore.

They are actually nice cars and I wouldn't mind having one as a daily cruiser......if I didn't have all these other English cars already. :)

    I really like...

Re: When F1 was a blast...

I attended my first F1 event at The Glen in '68. Once I was out of college ('72) I went racing myself and didn't have the time.

But I recall the wonderful F1 racers and cars from that era (just...

    Re: Bunch of Corvairs!

I live about a mile from Ashley's Auto Body, which may be the center of Corvair actively in the northeast USA.

I drive by it almost daily and see various Corvairs.

Like many of you guys, I had...

Re: The Zen of Austin Healey Maintenance

    For me it's a mix.

I'm a very hands-on type person so nothing really scares me in terms of doing jobs on the car.

And I love the racing crowd. I'm not so much a car show person, so I have less...
  10. Re: Looks like I'll get some more engine removal experience

Yeah...it's a rear-steer setup like an A35 (as opposed to a Spridget with "front steer").

You can see a photo of the setup ~HERE~

My engine is currently hanging on a chain as I type this (and...

    Re: Hino Contessa

    Very neat little rear-engine car.

Some of them remind me of NSUs or even small Corvairs (with that "beltline".....BMW 2002s have it too).

While others have a Karman-Ghia look. Or maybe a bit...

MGA Re: Rocket Ralphie's Twin Cam

Nice job! An MGA roadster was my first car and I still think it's one of the best looking cars ever built.

An just imagine.....the MG company designed it without a computer or a website!...

Yes, you can tell he really drives the Bentley on the street. He actually has another Bentley and two Rolls-Royces.....all about the same vintage. Drives them all!

And I agree about the "moderns"....
