    Geo, Is there a line coming off that? don't see one in your pic so could it be just a spacer? If it is, Don't know why it wouldn't just be a shorter stud

    There is no torque specified in the BJ7/BJ8 shop manual. I tighten the nut as much as possible by hand, give the wrench handle a couple medium whacks

    Looks like mine (64 TR4) has a banjo there...



    ... but I have not had that off so I cannot comment whether the stud shown
