I noticed some some increased vibrations from the bonnet.
on closer inspection I found two of the studs had wallowed out of their holes & left the car.

after consulting the forum, it seemed my best option was just to replace the hinges, rather than try and repair.

TRF had theirs on sale for $33.00 & they seemed of good quality.
though approx. the same weight as the old ones, they are not made of the same ferrous ...
  2. Seat springs

    1960 Tr3A. Original seat springs.
these springs consist of 3 parts:

    top frame: very good condition,
flat spring steel, the double perimeter coil springs are afixed to the top frame with clamp on clips.

    springs : good condition
all the springs are interwoven together.
the inner coils are single springs, while the outer ones are double.
(several of the bottom connectors have rusted thru or are no longer connected, but did not effect comfort ...

ID:	36336I was surprised to see that the cast metal of the thermostat housing is such poor quality. Upon close inspection I noticed chunks of the inner side walls were eroded away ( in both the housing & cover) no wonder my water jackets are packed in with crud!.
TRF offers the housings, but on backorder.
so after some delay the base housing arrived.( some pitting & not great quality either).
Very easy to install as the ...

  5. #52. Braided Stainless steel brake hoses installation.

The old rubber hoses appeared in good shape.
But I got a good price on the 3 stainless steel hoses from TRF, and the upgrade is suppose to enhance brake performance.
(since I've done quite a bit to make the 3A run faster, and handle better,

i took advantage of the time to spray the connections with PB Blaster several times. ...
