  1. Radiator drain

    Hello all,

    New member here...

I'm working to get my 57 TR3 back on the road after sitting for 23 years. Last night I went to drain the radiator (in car) and remove the drain petcock which was stuck, so I could clean and restore it. It twisted off but instead of unscrewing, it brought with it what looks like about a 3/4" soldered fitting. Did I just ruin my radiator?

I'd post a pic but cant figure out how to do that... so second question is how can I ...

As a new member and long time TR owner of a few TR's. I fine the same topics come up time and time again. Here are three I like best; What tire is best and where do I get them and what do they cost. What carb. setup works best at sea level and above 4,000 feet. What did you pay for that paint job and who did it. Pick one and tell me your ideas.

Hated very poor British parts quality and design blunders..plus lousy service and support which killed off the at one time very popular British car market in the USA.
My resurrected one will contain custom wiring and near total elimination of English electricals. ( hated Lucas..bad in 60s..bad now..My 60s Mercedes and VWs had quality ...

Good morning all as a new member yesterday I found BCF quite good and as a long time TR owner, I still learn more each day and yesterday a great day for sure. I added my inputs to a number of post that I hope would help new TR owners. The reason I joined BCF was to tell about a wish I have had for many years. Adding a Backlight to my 1973 TR6. If you do not know what the heck is a backlight either did I, I called them Surry tops as seen on a few TR 4's. I live in Reno area of Nevada. My hard top ...
