    I Purchased this bendpak Ranger quickjack BL3500 about a month ago for $825.00 new.

    Bendpak shipped me an old open box unit, that had clearly been used & used hard.

    The hand controller was cracked, the hoses already had Teflon tape wrapped & the reservoir was open and appeared contaminated.

    after a few phone calls & emails they sent me a replacement power pack & new hoses. ...

    While the old seats looked fine.
    (The top cover upholstery is excellent). I noticed more and more bits of rust, old padding and horsehair, in the carpeting.
    i removed the newer coverings & discovered the problem.

    after reading some post on foam replacements thru 2tall upholstery on eBay, I contacted them & ordered a full set of ...

    Recently did my annual oil change.
    But his time I flushed it first with LM engine flush.
    i used Brad Penn ZDDP SAE 20w-50 oil.

    i also added LM cerratec "ceramic additive for high mileage vehicles". It was expensive at $23. A bottle, but they received hundreds of high marks on Amazon
    (hopefully it will help postpone the inevitable rebuild)

    Because my filter has a less flexible inner basket weave that would not re-form well,

    i did as Randall suggested and used one mag. ring at the base of the OD plug and a magnetic plug in the gearbox.
    however next year ( or next time I drain) I'm switching to the mag. Hex socket type of plug.
    That big plug post sticking straight down from the gearbox is just asking to be knocked off.

  5. #48. DOT 5 conversion

    There are a lot of different opinions about the best way to convert to DOT 5 from DOT 3/4.
    the safest bet would of course be completely dismantle your brake system, clean & flush, then bleed in 5. (That's pretty much what all the Mfgrs. recommend). But on the BCF & several other DIY sites, a simple chase the old fluid(3/4) with the new (5) has done no harm and worked fine.
    i figured I'll take the simple route first & if it gives me trouble, then I will do it the hard way. ...
