View Full Version : TR4/4A Intake manifold - what attaches?

What attaches to the ear that is below the front half of the intake manifold (#3 in this picture)? https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=29119

I haven't found anything in my parts boxes that looks like it should go there.

On earlier cars, with SU carbs, I believe there should be a small bracket, that carries the bell crank for the throttle linkage. With ZS carbs, I think the bell crank attaches to the manifold directly, using a special shouldered bolt (so the crank can still move with the bolt tight).

Yes, that explains it. Now that I look at the two parts diagrams closely, I see the difference. I have SUs with the centered bracket, so nothing attaches to that ear.
