I am refering to shaft that lis located on firewall and retained in a bearing on each side and is used to connect gas pedal to carbs.

What is the easiest way to remove this from the firewall. It appears that this can be removed either by removing the two mill pins on the left or the mills pin on the right. Any suggestions on how to remve this assembly? Is the removal of the pins the only way to remove this assembly? My intent is to remove the plastic bearings on the shaft prior to having the tub tipped.

The shaft runs in roundish nylon(?) bushings held between two concave metal shells held to the firewall by hex head sheet metal screws. I recall having to remove these screws and metal shells. A good diagram is in the moss catalogue for spring/summer 2012 at page 14.

Thanks Bob for your reply. After the the brackets and two bolts securing shaft to firewall were removed, the entire assembly including the gas pedal was easily removed.

Are you dipping the tub in zinc?
