Since I am finally able to drive the care I have been hearing a loud clunk at the rear of the car when I go over a bump. I remember reading a while back that this might be coming from the diffrential mount.

Also, the car seems to bottom out when going over a bump.

The car had the tube shock conversion when I bought the car but it rode so rough that I changed back to the lever shocks.

I don't remember the ride being this rough when I started rebuilding the engine. Of course, that was a while back and as I have said before my memory is not what it used to be.

Thanks, Pete

Check that the holes in the shocks where they mount are not ovaled out (had this happen on a TR4A with clunking as you describe), and check the actual shock mount to frame. There has been a lot of those shock conversions that have torn the mount away from the frame. I know you switched back, but maybe damage was done prior to taking the tube shocks off.
