This was very emotional for me to watch. My uncle, Lt. Oscar (Bud) Cagle arrived in England in the summer of 1944. He was stationed in Boxstead and flew a P-47 with the 63rd squadron, 56th fighter group, 8th Air Force, Zemke's Wolfpack. Bud was KIA on September 21, 1944 at Sallsveld, Holland.

These men and their stories always bring a welling of emotion and a large lump in my chest. I salute all of the members of the 'Greatest Generation' and thank all of them for their service to our country.

Oh my god, that was tough to watch.

The dept we owe that generation. I've always marveled as how the young boys looked so old even at the ripe ol age of 20-24

Simply amazing! My DNA wasn't even combined until 1963 yet I got shivers and goosebumps as I watched that. Seeing the 100 or so planes be all in one place at the same time and then have the B-17 come in - wow.

Astounding to think that the war ended in 1945 - 65 years ago now. If the pilots ended the war at 21-22, they would be 86 +/- today. It won't be long until there are few if any left. Alas, the machines will long out last the men. It is the responsibility of those who remain and come after to preserve and maintain the machines so the men are not forgotten.
