As promised in my other post.....
1) Is there a common auto-parts store equivalent to the Unipart GFE 150 oil filter. The angle it sits at would imply it must have a valve to prevent drainback, but even so the $12 price locally seems a bit steep?
2) Do all 1979 Spits have catalytic converters or is mine from California or something?
Thanks, Simon.

Simon;

I found that Napa carries a filter for my 80 Spitfire, which is the same as on Minis I've been told, but it was about $16. I've been buying Unipart oil filters for about $8 ea from Christian Hollum Imports, Lachine, PQ, 514-693-4693. I didn't try this but maybe Napa could cross-reference it to another model vehicle.

My Spitfire is a US Federal car and it has a Catalytic converter as well.

on my 1500 I run a wix filter for about 7 or 8 bucks from O'Reilly's.

Walter;

What is the part number of your WIX filter?
