Some very generous friends have been helping me bring this
"parts car" back to life.

A box arrived today from Jesse in MD that contains testing; tools
to help me get this car fully operational.

An aside- a a small BCF team is prepping the Crypt Car for
the 200 mile Enduro run thru the mountains and desert .

regards and thanks Jesse!!.............

How can a 4 hour drive be an Enduro???

I think Dale would tell you that anything over 20 minutes is an Enduro. Right, Dale ?

How can a 4 hour drive be an Enduro???

Dale- it's actually an 8 hour drive:
thru rugged mountains with hundreds of switchbacks,
a trek thru the desert mountains and saltflats and
then a final 2 hour on 4-lane back over the mountains.

I've only done this route twice- both times in a 4X4 Jeep.
Not all of the proposed Enduro is on paved road surfaces.
A little off-roading is required.

Poolboy is correct: My car rarely is capable of a one
hour trip at sea level without breaking down.
200 rugged mountain miles in MY CAR is kinda like the
Baja, CA Enduro.

I posted without reading your enduro post. That IS quite a route. It is, also, just the kind of drive Amos was made for. I wish you dry roads, no tourists in the way, and an exhilarating experience. BTW, how did the boat vs car battery conflict get resolved??

A TR boot is for luggage not parts. Wife is loading up in Sidney BC before boarding the ferry to Anacortes WA., last month. Use soft luggage, pack light. These are great little cars, lots of fun.

I BTW, how did the boat vs car battery conflict get resolved??

Worked out perfectly.

The Crypt Car has a brand new battery and Tres Gatos has his original
battery back inside.

Go for it Dale!

Make lots of trailer stops on that route.
Have a good time, and send us a detailed report, Powder coated if you like.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Tom, that's a nice looking car, but who is that young chick hangin' out with you? Actually I have one of those blind young ladies who passes time with me. Fun, EH?

You got that right Dave! November 23 we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary.
And we are still best friends!

Congratulations Tom

It's nice to hear a success story in this time of doom and gloom.

Annie is my best friend as well. Wisconsin is not that far away. We'll have to try and get over there to meet you folks.

Dave :savewave:

Go for it Dale!

Dang tom!!

You were driving rural Rte 123 in PR and did
not let me in one the ation??

10-25-2008, 12:33 PM
Dave, that would be great. Shirley and I would enjoy that very much. There are a couple places where we could meet part way. One is Sturgis, MI where one of Shirley's cousins live. Another is a little further for you, Palos Hills south of Chicago where the British Car Union holds their show in September. They have 500 to 600 British cars there.

US Hwy 12 goes on the south side of Madison and all the way to Detroit. Actually it starts in Washington State.

Dale, just like to let you know that we don't baby our 6.

Congrats Tom. Our 40th is next May.

Our 20th is in two weeks. After the way she put up with me over the past year with the TR6, I think that we'll make it another 20.

Congrats Paul on your upcoming anniversary! And you too angelfi (Frank if I remember correctly). It may seem strange but the years have gone by so fast.
