I have just spent the morning re-building the brake Master Cyl. on the wife's '76 MG Midget 1500 - and this is the first time I have had problems re-building a master cylinder - however it leaks like a sieve! All the seals are in correct - I can only assume this is either a bad casting or ??? Anyways, I'm now disgusted with it and I want to replace the unit. Moss want $229.95 (ish) - before I double the price of the car - does anyone know of another supplier at a better price? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Maybe here?

...also, make sure that the lip on the seal has not turned back when you pressed it into the cylinder.

And, some of the replacement rubber stuff is made in China or India has quality that may be suspect....you might want to dissasemble and look carefully at the rebuild parts to see if they're any good.

On occassion, I've seen 3/4" seals mixed up with 7/8" seals...be sure they gave you the right size parts.
