View Full Version : Bonnet fitting

Took the bonnet off to install new cam and shave the head now I'm having a heck of a time aligning the darn thing again.
Any tips on an easy way to make the sucker align properly?

Yup, remove the shroud and grill. Then you can sit on a nice little stool and reach right in and tighten the screws while you hold the alignment.

Took the words out of my mouth. Also, try removing the latch assembly on the bonnet itself. That way the two rubber cones will nestle in the holes in the bonnet and keep the rear steady while you loosen/tighten the front hinge assemblies.

I just went through this myself following the advice above. You can see it here https://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/HoodInstall.htm

Have fun!

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just have to take the grille back out again. Bob, that's a great write up, thanks.
