I recently purchase a console over ebay that indicated that it came out of a '67 Series V Alpine. There is a stud coming out of the side that faces the driver's seat that looks like a Dzus fastener should fit over it. Any idea what's supposed to go here? The top has a lid on the front, and is flat on the back. There is a rectangular indentation in the middle of this back area, as if an emblem of some time was glued on there at one time. Any idea what that emblem should look like? Was the console standard equipment, a factory option, or an aftermarket piece? If factory, what years was it offered? Your assistance would be appreciated.

On the tonneau covers that they originally could be ordered with there was a strap that came down and fastened there. It was supposed to keep the cover from flapping around when the car was driven and it was open.

The flat part of the console is supposed to have an upholstered piece of padding on it. I haven't had mine apart for a long time, but from memory I think there is a tongue on the console that hooks into a loop on the back of the padding.

If anyone can improve on this description, please do.

The console was standard in all Alpines (although early ones open from the side, late ones open from the front).
