Leather is painted in a manner of speaking. It is sort of a dye paint. My Jag seats were both "painted" with special black leather coating and have held up very well.

Leatherique. It worked absolutely wonderfully on my old jag project and my dads old jag. It's expensive as ****, but worth it. It's way better than Meguiars IMHO.
