View Full Version : Gauge faces

I'm waiting for some spare cash to keep the project going and took the gauges apart. Mine were very rusted and the paint was flaking off the interior and the faces, but they all work. I was wondering how the Smith gauges were built.

I have a unit to powdercoat the bodies and faces. But how are the faces given new numbers? Is silkscreening an option. I know Nicewongers will rebuild units, but like everyone else I'm trying to save a few bucks. Any ideas ?

Joe I too live in Vancouver. I didn't see your name in the Portland Triumph Owners Assn membership book. If you haven't joined you should. Website is:www.portlandtriumph.org. If you are a member we'll most likely meet at some future event. As to your instruments it may be cheaper to purchase some good used units on ebay than to have yours rebuilt. What with the snow today is not a TR touring day for sure. Mike C '71 sapphire TR6
