Aloha All,

I recently rebuilt the hydraulics on my car, '58 TR3A comm # TS28418E. When I disassembled the clutch slave I didn't sketch how it was mountedand am now having trouble adjusting the clutch. Do the two mounting brackets on the slave cylinder go on the front of the bell housing bracket or on the rear side? Which hole on the cluch operating lever does the push rod fork attach, bottom or middle?

Haynes manual illustrations show the clutch slave mounting to the rear for TR3 and in the front for TR4 but I could find anything in the text regarding the postion. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

ALOHA yourself, I will help you with your slave cyl if you help me shovel snow.... Just kidding, TR3 slave goes in from the back, use mid hole. before you mount both bolts turn slave so bleed screw is full up, other wise cant get all air out. Also if you have peddle stop bolts at pedal box adjust for free play. much more to say but eyes going blurry

Mahalo (Thanks) Box, I had things mounted right at the slave cylinder. Further investigation showed a very worn clutch pedal. The hole for the clevis pin to connect the pedal to the master cylinder more closely ressembles a slot. I'll need to take it out and weld the the slot closed and redrill the hole. This should make final adjustments possible. Thanks for confirming my memory.

Just a dumb question, but you didnt mention a brace to the oil pan. I hope you have the beast, as it can lead to failure if its missing.......
Having once driven a 3 in Hawaii I must say that there are some GREAT roads to enjoy there.
Have fun
