Welcome bugite,
It just so happens that you don't have a problem after all, and several others in the Spridget forum are doing the same thing you are (1275 in a bugeye).
You'll be in good hands over there as long as you take pictures with you.
G'luck with the project!

I just bought a 1275 parts car last week to replace the 1500 engine in my '78 race car. I also have a 1275 in another car...great little engine.
The Miata transplant in a Brit roadster seems logical, and I have no objection myself (I commute to work in a 2000 Miata), but it's not as easy as it may sound. The good folks at GrassRoots Motorsports magazine just did this (in an MGB) and warned that it's a ton of work to do properly.

Welcome - jump over to the Spridget Forum & ask them about different power choices.

I have just obtained a fully restored 1959 Bugeye Sprite. I'm from the Asheville, NC area...and purchased a 1960 Sprite in St.Louis about 8 yrs ago. Sold it in 2003 and got an M-coupe...great fun...but missed the Healey. So I sold the coupe and purchased this '59 Sprite. I live in South Carolina now and can enjoy it most any time. Am looking for various car clubs and events in the upstate. Hope to frequent this site often and discuss various topics on line. Great to be here!
