Hello, my name is Cameron and I live in Northern Ohio. I recently adopted my newest project, "Charlotte." Charlotte is a 1974 1/2 MGB roadster who was born in Abingdon in October of 1974. I have just completed rebuilding her fuel pump as well as tearing out her interior. As soon as she's running well the first big project is getting my interior somewhat fixed. I plan on painting the floor pans and installing a new center console, and I am ordering Fiero seats next week. I am also designing a new shift knob in SolidWorks and I am planning on painting my gauge bezels and shifter trim ring black until I can afford to re-plate them. Here are some pics of her, I would have liked to have taken her out of the garage but it has been raining like mad these past few days.

Thanks for the kind words Tony! By the way, I have your instructions for the seat conversion printed out and ready for when my seats come. Thanks for putting those tips up on your website! She looks very good from ten feet, she was a North Carolina car for most of her life and spent nearly a decade in a pole barn a few miles from my house. She has bubbling doglegs but otherwise no rust - the undercarriage is clean as a whistle! Aside from that, the only other problems are a semi-crunched front apron, a weld seam on the driver's side front fender from an old repair, and a damaged door panel from the key being forced into the lock.

Contact Mike at https://www.mrmikes.com he has some nice leather seat kits for those seats! He even makes them with embroidered MG logo.

I'd love to, but carpet comes first! The seats I am buying are in excellent condition, no rips, tears, or worn foams, so they should look presentable for the time being.

Welcome aboard, "shaft". That seat looks a tad uncomfortable /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Hope you hang around a while. I think there may be one or two other MG enthusiasts here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I do have a question about my interior. If I don't install carpet, will I still need the heat shielding material around the transmision tunnel?

Oh, yeah, you will!

Would it just be uncomfortable otherwise, or would there be a melting/fire risk? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Uncomfortable - but what could melt/burn if there's no carpet?

The console could melt, perhaps? I plan on running carpet-less and radio-less for a while, so comfort is the least of my worries.

Nah, won't get that hot...but the exhaust is right under your butt!

Tony, you weren't kidding! After driving it around my yard today I felt a "whoosh" of hot air from the spinning driveshaft every time I gave her gas! It's kind of nice in this mid-September weather but I come spring i'm sure it will become very uncomfortable. Of course I am installing a new center console and shift boot.
