Well I dropped the differential today to check out the brackets on my 73 TR6. well sure enough the right front bracket is cracket. That explains the clunking I have been hearing lately. According to TRF this crack can be welded and that will fix it. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do to repair it? thanks

tsi/trf/moss all sell kits you can use to weld over the affected area and reinforce the rest.

It looks like TRF has some reinforcement pieces that are used to box in the front bracket. Wondering if I get those welded in on both front brackets and then have the crack welded if this will be strong enough. I don't race so its not like I'm gonna be putting any unsual pressure on them. If fact I'm lucky if I put 2000 miles on the car a year.

The Moss kit looks like you have to cut a holes in the sheetmetal above the pins to install their kit. I perfer not to cut holes in my beloved TR6.

all thoughts, opinions are gladly welcome.
