I've been kicking this one around....
I have a '74 1/2 TR6 in decent condition.
I've been thinking about selling it & going to a '71-'73
Sprite/Midget.Any thoughts on the best qualities on these years?
I only put about 1000 miles/year on the TR,& I have a '78 Bonneville that I can't afford to restore,if I keep the TR.

'67 Spridget is considered top shelf because it had still the old style (pre-safety) dash. Otherwise a 71-73 is the same. 1972 though, in the US, had the cut out rear wheel arches, that I at least think looks better. It's the 1275 engine that really makes it so nice. Good luck in deciding.

Make sure You've racked up a few miles on a midget/spridget before you decide. As a long time MG guy I've owned many, and although they do offer a very sporty feel(almost go-cart like) they are no comparison to a TR6 in terms of power. The TR6 has a feeling when you accelerate and the rear end squats down a little that you cannot get in any other car....I am not bashing the midget, I am just pointing out that they are VERY different cars, but I love the midgets as well, especially the early 70 cars.

Not sure why the Sprite/Midget would be less money to own.
In 1968 I traded my 64 TR4 and regretted it ever since. Still do! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Follow your heart but be as sure as you can be.
