After getting everthing back togather from water pump and release bearing I have noticed that when I rev the engine the amp gauge go's from maybe -5 or so to + 30. Any ideas?

How long was the car "down" for repairs? Perhaps the battery lost a good bit of its charge?

Not very long, the battery is strong. If I do a slow rev of the engine the amp gauge climbs as the engine rev to +30 the higher the rev the higher the amp gauge?

Have you done a load test on the battery to see if it will drop down any further? You may have a dead cell. If nothing else, disconnect the cables and charge overnight (slow rate) then hook up again and check actual charging rate. Observe charger gage when first hooking up to see how many amps are going in and how long it take to get down to around 5 amps. Fast drop down usually means battery is OK, just slightly under charged. Long time to drop down means battery is discharged more than you thought and will probably be OK.
You may have a failing voltage regulator, but you can at least eliminate the battery.

I'm leaning towards the voltage regulator. Pop off the cover and inspect the contacts and see if everything is in order.
