I am posting this under General TR because I believe TR4-4A-250-5-6 all can use the same wheel. I am looking for a smaller wheel for my TR250 for autocross use. I don't care (much) about looks, just want sturdy and a smaller diameter (I am thinking 13", but very open to suggestions).

I don't have any leg clearance issues, just want something a little "higher ratio" and also have elbow clearance issues with the narrow cockpit and relatively tall doors.

Any suggestions/experience would be welcome. I have a nice original wheel I will keep for when I want the car to be all original and pretty. Does a Spitfire wheel work?

Spitfire up until 77 will work with out any changes to the hub. If you go Moto Lita as you know the expense of a hub needs to be added, if not a package deal.
I had the 12 inch on the TR6 and for normal driving was not something that was comfortable, 14 would be the best for both worlds.

glemon, i have this steering wheel that one of my customers gave to me when he converted his Spitfire from a racing autocross car to a street car. It is 13 1/2". Different. needs some TLC but has a nice wide grip. Was going to put it on Ebay but never got around to doing it. If you or anyone else is interested PM me and we'll work it out.

That is the late wheel 78 to 80, the two prongs are the signal light counsel. Splines are different.
Be a nice one for some to restore, plus it has the hub which is not always available.

Thanks, I wondered about the nubs, I think the earlier stock Spitfire steering wheels are about the same size as the Tr250/6.

Moss sells the correct adapter.
