Hi, My TR4 manual lists the crank main journals at 2.4790 to 2.4795 to be in tolerance. My journals measure a uniform 2.474 on all three journals. Do I need to go to .010 bearings and have the crank ground? Thanks, Mike

Mike, you sure do. At 2.474 you are running excessive clearance on the bearings, leading to oil pressure loss, and eventual failure.
While you're at it, make sure to have main bearing journals of the block as well as the big ends of the rods checked for concentricity and size as well. Line hone and resize as required.

Hello Mike,
are you sure your measurements are accurate?, at approximatey 5thou down from the standard journal is a lot of wear and to be equal on all three is most unusual. Can you physically feel and see a ridge round the centre of the journal where the oil port is?, you should be able to at that wear.
