Posting a New Topic

How to Post a New Message (return)

First, you must enter one of the forums. (In this example, the Austin Healey forum) Then, click the "Post New Topic" Icon as shown below:

Step 1

Step 2

You will then see the message edit screen. Select a Message Icon. This is optional and the default is the plain note icon. The message Icon you choose will be displayed in front of your topic when it is viewed in the forum's list of topics to indicate the tone or nature of your post. For example, if you are asking a question, you might want to use the Message Icon. Then type in a Subject for your message, then in the message field, type in whatever you wish to say.

Be sure to click the Add New Topic Button to save your message, as shown above

Step 3

Note that below the Message Text area, there are a few other options available. The Instant Graemlins (another name for smilies) can be clicked on while typing your message in order to insert that face into your message. Note that the smilies are always placed at the end of your text, so if you want it somewhere else, you must manually cut and past it. Note also all the "Instant UBB Code" buttons. These are used to place pictures or links in your message, or to add effects to your test, such as bolding or italics. Click the "What is UBB" link you see just under the buttons for more information about UBB codes.

Also notice above that there are some option boxes you can check. The first one you check if you wish to be notified by email when someone replies to your post. The second indicates whether you want your "signature", as defined by you in your Profile, inserted at the end of your post when you save it.

Step 4

Thats it! Once you click the Add New Topic button, you will see this screen and then be taken back to whatever forum you were in:

That's It Return)
