This morning, the weather was in the 30's, calm, clear, crisp and a little frosty. The perfect fall morning.... I put my coat on, put the side curtains and half tonneau on, turned the key and pulled the starter knob (turned on the heater). Off to work. This afternoon, bright, sunny a little breezy and 45. I took the long way home....... almost 50 miles .... Perfect Lots of stares, smiles and a few comments at work, but they don't know the secret..............

Yeah, people keep asking me if the car is put away yet...heck no, fall is a great time to cruise top down. I have been out with the top down in the 30's but that is pushing it a bit. Need a hat, gloves, heater cranked, it's stellar.

I wore a surplus gas mask the other night when it was really cold as a joke. Got some real "interesting" looks. It works pretty good if you can get past breathing like Darth Vader.

OOoof. I left for "work" this AM in 72*F and thought it chilly. Top up and cabin temp didn't build to acceptable for the first 15 minutes. I hate winter.

O.K ..what's the secret ????? The secret? It comes to you when you are alone in your Spridget, top down, wind blowing around, smelling the Castrol, hearing the exhaust note and the carbs draw, feeling the pebble you just ran over under your pedal foot, feeling the pull on the wheel as you round that last turn, realizing how good the seats feel just now, and glancing at the dash gauges just one more time to make sure all is well before looking down the highway.

Been thinking about a tonneau since you guys have been swearing by them. Sounds like it'll by me more drive time. Gotta put the heater back in as my Ultima battery is too big for it to fit.
tao, I was thinking that today when I was driving it. I had been in a loaded Tundra all day and the Lincoln TC the day before. Both are really nice rides, but nothing says bliss like the Midget. Times stops, thoughs shut down and a warm relaxation just penetrates my soul; then shift and melt.
I honsetly don't know why more people don't own these things. I tell everyone I know that they are the best kept secret in the automotive world.
OMG, the secret, o.k, now I get it .
I mean I knew it before, but didn't know that's what you were talking about.
GOTCHA !!!!

+1 SHHHHHH!!! We don't want too many people to know... I know, I shut up a while back. More for them means less for me. PLus, I hate "me too". I liket the fact I'm the only guy aound that drives a LBC EVERY chance I get. There's another guy in town that drives his to work at the local HS. I don't know how often. Nice guy. (they usually are, aren't they!)
