Hey y'all,
Looking to use Dynamat Extreme on my floors, etc as I start
on the interior of my BN6. Know by reputation it is good
stuff but thought I would ask if anyone has had experience'
with it on our infamous Healey heat issues.
Thanks,
Mike

You may want to consider this. I'm using the Luxury Liner on the floor and Damplifier Pro in the rest of the car.

Second Skin insulation

I put Dynamat in my BN4 about two years ago, and the difference in temperature was considerable. I've never used the other products, so I can't really give you a side by side rating, but I'm very happy with the results.

I installed Dynamat Extreme and was pleased with the relative ease of installation and reasonable cost. I recognize it is more of a sound insulator, but it does a good job of heat insulation as well. The products designed for heat insulation are much more expensive. I'd say Dynamat is good enough and good value.

I used on the 100 for heat and sound, though it went on well and the heat while still consdierable is not as bad as what I would have expected. Not too costly and would recommend using Alum tape for all the joints to deal them up.

Paper templates work well to cut the Dynamat and then put in place, once this stuff goes on it's not easy to take up....

I would use it again.

Hope this helps,
Michael.

Thanks y'all for the comments about Dynamat. I found a good source for it
at the best pricing I have been able to find anywhere.

This is a good price ($129 for 9 sheet Xtreme pack) I paid about $149. I recommend the 9 sheet Xtreme pack. I covered the entire floor and footwell sides and tunnel. I did not do the doors.

I have Dynamat both under and over the floor on the driver's die and inside the tunnel, plus on top of the floor on the passenger side. I think the stuff is very effective.

Tim, If everyone uses this stuff and it makes the cars so quiet, how can you hear the parts falling off?? I may do it to my car since I'm doing a frame-up right now only because it looks better than the roofing tar paper. I'm not concerned with about the heat since my car is air-conditioned(unless it breaks).
