John,
I have a 64 BJ8 phase I which should be the same as your BJ7. By unloaded do you mean the the wheels off the ground supported by the suspension? Have a good day!

John

John,
I was able to get a distance of 3 1/16" on the passanger side. The driver side is blocked by the exhause pipes. I don't know if this is correct but it is what I have. Hope this helps and have a good day!

John
