Do you do your own alignment or take it to a shop? The Healey front ends have very littel taht can be adjusted. I was condering of one of those toe alignment tools they sell at Moss would be worth buying. they seem to cost less ahtn the cost of a shop alignment. I was wondering if you can do an accurate job with one of those?

I use a set of Longacre toe-plates; very easy to do at home without an assistant. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=5124

Bill,

One tip before checking toe in.
Roll the car backward a few feet, then forward a few feet.
This will make the front suspension sit correctly on the floor
before taking measurements.
If you have been jacking up the car off the front suspension
while working on it, this step will allow you to get correct readings on toe in.

Thanks Ed. I installed a beautiful new rosewood steering wheel on it and I'm concerend that when i do the alignment I will have a difficult time lining up the wheel. I guess if I need to, I can remove and reinstall the steering wheel.

I did my own some time ago using a home-made jig and got excellent advice from others on this site. You may want to do a search on the subject.

I got this info from steveg. Here is the post I used to make my own. You must roll the car forward to set the suspension for measurement as mentioned above.

I've built a toe caliper that works fine every time. When you use it to measure the difference between the front sidewall and rear sidewall it is accurate.

If this picture doesn't post correctly I'd appreciate guidance as I'm using the Forum's tool and pasting the link to my picture in the little window provided. The text below is the result.
