We are friends with an older couple who own a rather unique Bed & Breakfast. Banjo Ben can attest the place is odd.

We call it Fawlty Towers because everyday brings some catastrophe happens that Basil or Sybil has to deal with. Their family members also call the B&B Fawlty Towers.

Sybil busted her knee miniscus(sp) but refused the simple corrective operation and jetted off to Greece for 3 weeks with a large bottle painkillers.

So Basil is left to manage Fawlty by himself. Tuesday a call comes from the health department that they are sending a fumigation crew to spray for bugs. "Fine, fine, fine, just get over with it" says Basil.

Saturday morning Basil is in the kitchen trying to repair a broken waffle iron. Around 10:00 AM ,two men in all white coveralls and white hoodies arrive with a dolly and tell the girl at the desk they have arrived to fumigate. She calls Basil. "Fine, fine, fine, just get it over with." Basil returns to the waffle maker repair.

The two Health Dept workers load the Fawlty Towers safe onto
the dolly and depart in their white van.

Some time later, Basil returns to the front desk and notices the safe is gone.
"Where's in 'ell is the bloody safe!" Basil screams.

"The health department took it away to fumigate it" replies the girl at the front desk.
Basil pours himself a drink and plops down in a large, stuffed chair. Sybil is due home
this Tuesday! Wendy and I will be elsewhere.

Nope! We were there last night for a Spanish Flemenco guitar and flute recital.
The grand daughter could hardly keep a straight face as she told us the tale.
Basil said not to worry
they had the hooded thieves on video.

Everyone is quaking in their shoes for when Sybil returns tomorrow.

To say she is stern is an understatement, plus she will have spent
3 weeks with a busted miniscus(sp) and lots of pain.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

In the middle of one night, the toilet water feed pipe blew up
and drenched two guests. Poor Basil!

Real Life Fawlty Towers.

It's just great. We love going over to Fawlty Towers.
It's like having the original back- with new episodes
every week!!

We can do the roof caves in on the sleeping guests
skit at some other time.

LOL! Nailed it.

Since there are a bunch of Fawlty Towers fans here, I wanted to make sure you knew about BBC Video’s Fawlty Towers Remastered ‘lookalike contest’ where you can win a SIGNED DVD from John Cleese, with winners being selected by the man himself! If you’re game, head over to http://tr.im/fawltycontest before 11/15 to get in on this bloody brilliant opportunity!
