I just went to look at it- it is nearly rust-free and mostly complete (no seats, top, interior, etc)

For $200 bucks you didn't take it home. Shame on you.

Looks like carbs in left photo to me.
Writeup says no carbs.

Boy, that right photo threw me for a few......
Photo is so dark, finally oriented to the chrome 3-spoke steering wheel, and rotated my monitor.
All is well!
All is well!

Yep, that's a carb alright....for $200, I'd bring it home & part out on ebay if nothing else! Heck, he'd probably take $150!

Weber carb, wire wheels, no rust. That one should have followed you home. If I were closer, I'd have had it.

I already have one more project car than I have garage spaces and my wife would have shot me!!
I didn't ask specifically about the carb discrepancy but he is a really pleasant kid who is actually looking for one in running/driving condition.
Lady next door to him has an MGB hardtop with no car for it (divorce thing) which is apparently looking for a new home too.

I was just going to mention the lack of space for more projects at Bill's house - he beat me to it!!

I'm full up at the moment, but I saw it earlier in the week and was tempted...

Holy smokes...I'm getting ready to cut up a rotten '69 that looks better than that!

Yeah, but it's fully restorable...including the swing-away rear body and the separate LF wing and headlamp assembly.

I'd bet he'd make you a deal on the Corvair in the background at the same time.

Heck you could put the body on the Corvair, have six cylinders, and leak oil just like the original!

Think of the handling with the engine in back!

My '69 was cut up today and properly disposed of at a scrap yard. It was extremely rotten...a Sawz-All with a new blade went thru it like a hot knife thru butter. I salvaged the steel wheels, rear axle and springs but the front end was not recoverable - rusted utterly solid. Have had the engine and tranny out and dry for years; interior was in pretty poor condition and it was tossed out several years ago. Heck, the car *was* free when I got it...used it, a rusty red Midget and a green Sprite to build my first car on that old white '69. Still, sorry to see my first Midget go... bawl bawl bawl and a toast to the good times we had... thirsty drive thanks
