Hi
I just bought a mga hardtop over the weekend..
I have a new canvas top as well, but wanted the fiberglass for Winter use.. anyhow, it does need reconditioning. After nearly a half a century the following needs updating and replacing. Can anyone assist in ideas, parts, replacements etc. I
1. New seal between to and and top of windshield ( as is the screw clamps do not "hit" under the windshield lip.
2. New seal along the bottom, making contact with the body of the car.
3. There are no j hooks.. I am sure a turnbuckle arrangement could be had, but prefer something more official. I would assume it hooks into the hinge area of the canvas frame... somewhere.
4. The headliner is pretty stained and just messy, any ideas on replacement.
5. Interesting, as it sits on the car temporarily, the bottom seal hits the snap clips perfectly... should I remove those.. that certainly would be inconvenient is setting up the canvas top
6. The plexi is ini pretty good shape, but could be better. A good polish recommendation?
I did go on line and found some info from the mg guru, but would like to hear from others about the same experience.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Thanks so much for the assistance.

Looks a bit like a Tom Parrish. Sprayed black. What's on the li'l "studs" at the sides next to the door glass?

Try Smoothline for seals since they are still in business and still produce tops of their design for MGA. Might not be perfect but might be better than generic camper-top foam, although hardware stores have many sizes and shapes to choose from.
