I've never posted in the Jag forum before, mainly because I don't own a Jag, just a lowly little TR4, but I thought some of you may be interested in a car being offered by Mecum in their upcoming August 15 auction.

Being offered is Nicolas Cage's '63 Semi-Lightweight competition E-type. I don't know about Nick, but it sure beats the heck out of "Eleanor" in my opinion.

Good luck bidding!

I don't think it started life as a factory prepped car. It probably was a regular E-type that was later modified and used for racing. Very little is still '63 vintage except the tub. I guess the rest of the story will be told Sat. afternoon. If it's $100K to $150K, it's a later build-up. If it's $500K+, then Sir Lyons oversaw the build.

Still VERY nice.

Phil.

The car never sold with the highest bid only around 55k I think.

Poor Nick.
