Does anyone have experience using a MaxJax lift with an E-Type?

Unless you can verify someone who has, I wouldn't try it. The EType doesn't really have a frame - its a uni-body and I'd be afraid of bending the body. But I'm just basing that on looking at the MaxJax system and knowing how minimal the Etype body and front sub-frame are. There is another system that basically lets you drive the car up on ramps then the whole thing can be jacked. I'll see if Tony Barnhill (I think he has this system) can post a picture.

Basil,

Thanks for your reply. I have the same concern and certainly don't want to bend the body!

I was thinking that that possible jacking places might be the rear attachment points of the front wishbones and the body attachment points of the rear radius arms. I have used these as locations for jack stands in the past. I did use customized pieces of 2x4 to spread the load on the body rather than using the rather small top of the jackstand.

These points may be too far apart for the MaxJax arms. I'm trying to figure that out now.

I am interested in any other systems used such as Barnhills.

The MaxJax looks nice for use in small areas such as one bay of a two car home garage.

I also have a couple of Morgans that occasionally need a lift, but their separate frame provides plenty of locations for jacking.
