Hello All,
I recently joined BCF after reading the many helpful and interesting posts on the site. Here is a little bit about me. I am currently restoring a 1962 Austin Healey 3000 BT7 MK2. The car is stripped down to the bodyshell and I am in the process of replacing sills, door posts, floors, rocker panels...etc. I owned my first Austin Healey 3000 (1960 BT7) in 1978 (I was 16), whereby I purchased the car as a trade for a Norton Atlas 750 motorcycle. Unfortunately, college forced the sale of a car I really loved. I was always a corvette enthusiast and over the last 30 years have built my collection of 4 corvettes, however the Austin Healey was and always remained a favorite. Soooooooooooooo....last year I purchased the 1962 AH 3000 to perform a complete nut and bolt restoration.....My wife is at her wits end over this as she has tolerated 3 complete restorations on the corvettes already. But this is a HEAlEY!!!! The big difference with this car is we need to deal with rust, something I have avoided in the last 30 years. I will look to post photos if I can and also any questions that come up as I go...............So, here we go.......ONE MORE TIME!!!!..Tony........ Me my wife

Welcome aboard Tony. You're only in your mid forties, so you've got plenty of restorations left in you.

Hello Swoz, welcome to the forum nice to have a new member along. This is a fun forum just like the cars.

If you do a search on some ot the topics you are interested in there is a chance you can open up all kinds of cans of worms for you to read.

If you have trouble with searching for topics put it out there to the membership and the answers will come flooding in.

Are you sure your wife and mine aren't sisters as that is my wife's normal
look with anything to do about my Healey's !!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll have a lot
of blood, sweat and tears along with enjoyment restoring your BT7. I might
recommend a couple of good parts sources for you since you're new again to
the Healey world - Moss Motors, US and in England, AH Spares. Just google
AH Spares, UK and you'll get their correct website address. Compare the
pricing from the two vendors, factor in the exchange rate and add about
10 to 15 % for freight for AH Spares to see which works best for you. AH
Spares provides a lot of parts to Moss and others over here and I think their
interiors and tops are superior to Moss or Victoria British. Anyway, not a
commercial for them, but the ole parts issue will be a major expense.
