My Dad has aquired a new machine from florida..its a 1985 Rolls Royce Silverspur 8 cyl.Its got a miss in one of the cylinders on the drivers side.Wet plug.Other than buying a $200 u.s manual he's looking for the firing order to make sure its right.The people he got it from in Florida(then brought back to Ontario Canada)have had a turn at fixing it so who knows what was right..Please help...it would make a great fathers day gift to get it running right..Thanks..Patrick...

The "A" bank is on right when viewed from the driver's seat, the firing order is (or should be IIRC): A1 B1 A4 B4 B2 A3 B3 A2 Make sure the wires are in good condition and not touching each other or the engine someplace. Start it after dark and watch for "lightning" under the hood.

And...if by chance it would be pos grnd, I have a pertronix iggy avaiable for a good price. Never installed. (SP's use same unit as RR's.)

Yup. Metal shrouds were the order of the day, Keoke. Most of those are likely deep-sixed by now. If not, the wires HAVE to be in EXCELLENT condition. And Dale: By 1985 even Mr. Rolls and Mr. Royce had gone to negative earth.
