I wanted to post my grief with window regulators in case someone else comes along and makes the same mistake I did. My windows would bind going up or down. I never did get a chance to see the doors assembled when I bought the car.

What happened was I bolted the regulators to the doors and then dropped the glass down on top of the track buttons. Incorrect. Luckily I was down in the basement today cleaning up some junk and came across a spare door I had with everything still connected.

I went to my car and unbolted the regulators from the doors. The track buttons actually go into the track not under it. Duh! To fit the track buttons into the track on the window I held the glass so the track was close to the top of the door. The back track button fits in a 2 inch gap in the track. I pushed the regulator piece upward until the button was right at the front edge of the track. A little WD40 helped it slide in. The front button was inserted into the front of the track. That took a little more effort but it did eventually slide into the track.

To get the mounting holes on the regulator to line up with the holes in the door I took the window crank and adjusted it back and forth until all the holes were in place.

Now when I have the top up I can go through a drive through, or roll the window up when it starts to rain. Amazing how we take for granted such simple things.
