As the brake pipe is connected to the blanking plate screw the clip extends toward the engine. As the clutch pipe is connected to the blanking plate screws the clips extend away from the engine (toward the brake pipe). Is that the correct orientation?

I am putting in all new brake lines in my 1960 Bugeye at the moment so hopefully I can help. I have a 59 (not restored) and a 60 (in the process of a complete restoration). Sorry, but I do not understand which brake line we are talking about - could you tell me where the brake line in question starts and ends so that I am sure what line you are referring to? Thanks, Kevin

These are the brake and clutch lines running from the master cylinder to the four-way union (clutch line runs near not to the four-way). Shortly before the four-way union they are attached via three clips (two on the clutch line and one on the brake line) to the blanking plate.

I know what you are talking about, but do not have an answer. However, just to help clarify: the blanking plate is the one covering the pedal box aperture on the right hand side.

I understand now. My lines pass on the inside of the blanking plate (on the engine side) The clips extend toward the lines and toward the engine.
