This is kinda simple, but I didn't want to mess up the hood ornament when I remove it.

From below, there is a large nylon nut to remove, which I did. With that off, it still doesn't want to come off. There seems to be two flat sides on the threads for the nylon nut. Do these threads come off?

If anyone knows how to get this off without messing it up, please let me know.

They normally have a glue gasket also which can be removed with dental floss.
