Howdy all,

Did a search on recovering door panels and interior panels and found just about everything I needed. So I went to home depot and got the 1/8 inch hard board and spray adhesive and to the fabric shop to get the head liner material and the plether. I cut one piece of board to the right shape and glued the foam to it. Then I went to attach the pleather stuff. This is where I ran into the problem. My staples are too long!!!!. I can't find any staples less than a 1/4 inch! I found a stapler on line that shoots 1/8 inch but it's like 200 bucks! I don't think just gluing it on will last. Any ides? Any cheeper staplers out there or a different way of attaching?

Thanks,

"Rustyironworks" --

I bought the Unicatch "USC7 1/16" It's a 22 gauge "Fine Wire Stapler". $60

It goes down to 5/32" (had to go to a speciality roofing store to get those; home cheapo never have heard of this gun). It's too much of a speciality and non-home remodeling.

A cheap version might work (depth & gauge are correct; 1/4 and 22ga) - it's used. Only goes does to 1/4" -- might go further with a different brand of staples in that gun. My opinion - 1/4"s will give you a tear through in some areas.

or ebay bid # 120414213475

I'd buy the new. It's what I used and it was absolutly incredible. When you get stuck - email me at gzeck2 at yahoo dot com.

Do the int panels first; then the side trim; working your skil up to the one piece cockpit surround in the back. I also used it for the seat bottoms (larger staples).

The best part about doing interior's this way -- you can remove the staples when you don't like the looks of somethign and re-do.

GO SLOW. It'l look great.

"Rustyironworks" -

On your door panels - I assume yours are not completely flat - mine have a gentle bent towards the front . How do you make a bend?

I used metal screws and liquid nails (metal screws had 'decorative' tops to them. Will try to fine a pic.

Also - used lots of clamps (mini clamps and one handed clams).
