Hello all. New Elise owner checking in. She just arrived: 2005 w/ 3K miles, here with her stablemate...funny how big the TR looks. Been at the Triumph area for a while, now i get to play here.

Now to sell the S2000....

Congrats! We also have an Arctic Silver 2005 Elise in our garage. One of the greatest English sports cars of all time, in my humble opinion! thumbsup

Here's a photo I took the day I brought the Lotus home two years ago, next to our TR-250.

I bought it in New York and drove it home to DC. As I'm sure you've discovered, there's no place to stow the hardtop in the car, so I had to drive home with it on the car. A few moments after I took this photo, the hard top came off, and hasn't been on the car since. In fact, after gathering dust for two years in my basement, I recently sold the hardtop to another local Elise enthusiast. Our Elise generally goes topless.

Enjoy! I have no doubt that you will! grin cheers

"..no matter how they toss the dice..." good bad songs!

Mad River, nice picture and nice collection. We also have the same 2500M and/or SP250 dreams.

Congratulations. It's not a great pic, but here are my two the day the Europa arrived.

That's great! I've always wanted to drive a Europa. Always struck me as the direct ancestor of the Elise more than any other car from Hethel.

Congrats. Nice indeed.

Check out NELLI (New England Lotus Lovers Inc).

http://www.nelli.org/

Quite a few Elise owners in the club.

Have often thought an Elise is in my future but would have to make room in the garage - and that would be a tough decision.

Cheers,

Rob.

Rob,

I will look into NELLI. Have any pics of your Twin Cam? That has always been a favorite of mine. I owned an early Europa once...well most of one.

I am making room by selling an absolutely perfect, low mileage 2001 S2000 that I planned on keeping for a long time...really hate to see it go but the Better Half needs her space back.

Of course I have pictures to share:

Currently it is sitting on the lift eviscerated (engine is being rebuilt) but hope to have it back on the road before too long.

Am I correct that the 2001 S2000 had the screamer engine (9k red-line?). Those are great. I can see how would be sad to let it go.

Cheers,

Rob.

I can't see the pic, may be blocked by Big Brother down in IT.

I really do not want to sell the "Stook" and actually thought about selling the TR instead..still am, but the Tr is part of the family....plus it is approximately 100 serial #'s away from the first car I ever owned.

It's not British, but here is the toy that is making way for the Elise, yes it is the early 9k redline AP1 model (18K miles!). I'm going to miss her.

I saw them fine from home, must be our firewall.

Nice TCS, any chance of it being done for British Car Day at the MOT?

Rob, you should drag some of those folks over here! Our Lotus forum could use an infusion of new members!

Hope it will be done by then. My engine guy is still working on the rebuild - has the machining done and the head together, just the assembly and tuning (on the engine dyno) to go. If the Lotus is not back on the road, then I can always bring the TR250!

I'll try. There is a very active Yahoo Europa web ring that gets a lot of participation and an Elan site that is popular too. Hard to overcome those "network" effects when they are well established.

I've managed ONE convert. laugh

I kinda like the hard top look on the Elise. Wish I'd found one for the Elan back-when.

That Honda is about the only "modern" car other than the Elise or Exige I'd want to own.
