Don't think there's been a post of late, so here's a link to the TTACD website - have a look to see what's cooking. John Macartney, formerly with Standard-Triumph, Coventry, will be stopping in various locations around the country, so be sure to turn out and greet him. This is quite an event, and my wish is that lots of BCF-ers will participate in whatever manner possible.

All proceeds from the drive will go to research and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Mickey

The event is shaping up. John will be ALL OVER the country, as well as part of Canada, this summer, so there's little excuse for you to miss hooking up.

Check out the latest here

And be sure to make a donation!

IT LIVES!!

Yesterday the Stag took its first drive! The launch is just a few short weeks away. Check out the website and Youtube drive here , and be sure to catch John if he comes through your town. The route is also on the website.

Hi Mickey,

Thanks for keeping the discussion of this event alive!

Yes, the unveiling is on the 31st of May, next weekend. I'll be there to congratulate the ISOA STTAG members on their great accomplishment.

Drive kicks off 27 June at Grass Roots Motorsports in Holly Hills Florida. Everyone, BE THERE!!

I now have some time on my hands so I can do some chat now too.

Cheers!

The best trophies are miles on the odometer, stone chips in the paint, dead bugs on the windshield, and the occasional smell of manure!

I've been told by one of my Flickr contacts that the tour will be coming through Calgary in September (I think?), anyone know Phil Ethier? He will apparently be along for the drive...

Don't know him, but the tour will be in Calgary. From the website:

Quote:
Sun 6th September - CALGARY, Alberta and a visit with everyone at the Vintage Sports Car Club of Calgary. A day earlier, John will be meeting up with his wife Liz who will have taken the ’sensible way’ across the Atlantic by availing herself of a special offer to sail on the newly launched and commissioned ship, the Queen Mary II - all 1132 feet and 151,000 tons of her! Assuming we get the timings right, Liz will then into Calgary from New York and will be with John for what both hope will be the opportunity of a lifetime by crossing The Rockies together. We’ve given ourselves 5 days to do this as we have to be ready for the next event on

Sat 12 - Sun 13 September with our friends at the British Columbia Triumph Registry in Vancouver. Venue event and date TBA.

There will be a Flickr account set up to post pictures all along the way:

The caravan is scheduled to arrive in Memphis on August 6th and leave on the 7th. The British Sports Car Club of Memphis will be meeting the caravan here and most likely have a special club dinner meeting for the event, and I'll be contacting the clubs in Arkansas to see if they'll get involved once the caravan moves west from here.

The drive is underway!

Click for the latest news. And be sure to check often to see where "Uncle Jack" is taking John and those who are in the caravan with him.

When they are in your area, be sure to come out and greet them!

I had breakfast with John and the Stag and 2 TCOC members. The Stag did not want to start and he has a flooding issue. We got it going but he needs to check the carb venting system or there is a needle and seat sticking problem. What a great sounding car when its running! Bob

The Delaware Valley Triumph club is hosting John this weekend. A group of about 7 cars met with John and Uncle Jack at The Whip Tavern in Chester County PA and after lunch escorted him up to the annual club picnic where many more club members were scheduled to be present. I had another commitment, so I wasn't able to make the picnic. A few pics were taken at the pub and hopefully I will be able to get a copy to post on here.
