How do you adjust the door to open freely? I just put the shut face plates back in my car (it hasn't had them since I'veowned it), and now the door is too tight - it closes and opens very hard????

If the shut trim piece wasnt installed and the door fit well my assumtion is the striker is now too close to the door. There were probaly spacers between the stiker plate and the shut pillar. When you added the trim piece you may have to remove one of the spacers.

My car has a thick spacer (5-6mm est.) between the shut pillar and the back side of the trim plate. One thin spacer (2mm) between trim plate and the striker plate. Not sure if there is any difference in a longbridge car

Mine is set up with no spacer between the striker plate and the trim plate, and a thick spacer between the trim plate and the shut pillar. I was thinking about removing the spacer between the shut pillar and the trim plate, and replacing it with something thinner - what you are saying seems to agree with that, so maybe that's my answer. Or I could take the trim plate off, and tap the shut pillar in a little bit. Then I wouldn't be depressing the trim plate into the gap created by the missing spacer between the trim plate and the shut pillar. Sometimes I think too much...
