My friend Rik Holman came over right after lunch & we spent the afternoon hooking up all the final small items & then stuffing the engine in.....it went real easy, about 2 hours for the actual installation.

After we called Jack & he explained the motor mount trick, things went even more smoothly (attach the diver-side mount to the engine with the mount bracket in the car...take the passenger mount bracket out of the car & attach the motor mount to it....install the transmission mount to the body using the long bolts before messing with the engine mounts...then, drop the driver-side motor mount in its mount bracket & start the nut...then install the passenger mount/bracket assembly...BINGO!)

....& one of the best tips I've gotten off this site is the water pipe foam insulation tip (cover the edge of the battery shelf with a piece, put a piece over the edge of the slam panel & the 2 small radiator panels on either side of it)

We didn't scratch a thing!! & the driveshaft slid right in!!

Rik's the Midget Man!!

Now, I start hooking things up & install all the hang-on's!! WOO HOO!!

Hazzah!!

Excellent job and good news! can't wait to see more pix.

Man, the engine compartment of a restored Midget is so pretty. Everything is so easy to see, what little of it there is.

Stunning, Tee!!! Very impressive. thumbsup

And if any a' youse-guys are interested: those long floaty thingies called "pool noodles" work as well or better than pipe insulation for edge protection. wink
