I have a couple of shocks from a parts car that have been sitting on a shelf for some time. They were not wet when I took them off the car but I can hear air bubbles when I move them through the stroke. I can top them up with new oil but what is the best way to remove the air?

regards

Keep working them from top to bottom. Eventually the bubbles go away. It takes a bit effort though.
