Does anyone have the approximate weight of a bare chasis (no drive train, fenders, doors, hood, or trunk lid etc.) of a BJ8 or any 4 seater? Thanks and have a good day!

One hundred thirty five pounds (135 Lbs) seems awful light. While I could handle this chassis to roll/flip it for painting, I have to think it weighed more than that. Note, I was MUCH younger AND stronger then too!

The only parts covered in the article were the longitudinal and cross piece parts of the bare chassis, not all the superstructure shown in your photo. If that was what was meant, I have no idea. That makes me feel a lot better If I had to guess the weight of something I lifted more than twenty (>20) years ago, I'd say the complete chassis (shown in my post above) was 350 Lbs. I can't imagine the 4-seater being too much different.

I would say that is a pretty accurate guess, I am sandblasting my (BT7)chassis right now and was figuring it weighed somewhere in the 350-450lb range, it is in the same state your pic is.

Methinks if you emailed Kilmartins regarding chassis weight, they could give you a close figure
