At the entrance to the Pub, it states the following:
The Pub is: Forum to generally shoot the breeze. It is
NOT: a debate forum (
NO Politics, religion, or controversial topics.) Keep it
clean,
fun and
lite!
I fully understand that there are a lot of things going on in the world and we would all love to solve the pressing issues of the day (trust me, I have my own list), but there is method to my madness in keeping "controversial" topics, to include politics, religion, etc., off of the BCF.
It is not because I want to infringe on your 1st amendment rights (which it isn't since this is a private forum). It is simply because, before I started BCF, I had been on many forums where there was an "anything goes" philosophy and often things would get nasty and heated. So, I decided from the day I started BCF that this would be a different kind of place. By this I mean that the primary focus would be on our collective love of Little British Cars (and big ones too) and we would leave our politics and opinions on the hot topics of the day at the door. I am well aware that not everyone is going to agree with this philosophy, but this approach has served BCF well for nearly 8 years in keeping things at BCF friendly and civil. So, in that tradition, please consider the following when posting in the Pub:
1) Is this topic political?
2) Is this topic likely to "turn" political?
3) Is the topic religious?
4) Is the topic likely to be offensive to anyone?
5) is the topic in poor taste? (I'm guilty on this one

)
If the answer to any of the above is
yes then
please don't post it If a post is deemed to be too political, or is likely to turn political, it may get deleted by me or one of the moderators (even if it's something which I agree with - I don't discriminate).
Don't take it personally. Sometimes a thread may start off ok, but eventually devolve into political commentary, in which cases, individual posts within the thread may be deleted and the thread locked.
If you look at the hundreds of threads in the Pub, 99.999% are perfectly fine. So please continue to keep it lite, fun and in good taste.
Thanks,
